What to blog about.. what a conundrum
Damn I loved that movie.. Simon Pegg and Nick Frost are hilarious together, If you haven't seen Hot Fuzz you must stop reading, get up.. walk out the door go to your nearest purveyor of quality videos..OR netflix! Unless you're lucky to have a handy-dandy thing called "redbox" which if you ask me sounds bloody obscene.. anywho.. A lovely little machine that is filled with dvds! All for a dollar! Which is where I picked it up! (may I add not for sale for a dollar.. you actually have to return it!)
Back to the movie; If you rather enjoy side-splitting humour then you should watch this film, I won't spoil it for you but there are some lovely old grannies in it that you wouldn't wanna meet in a dark alley. In this picture they're enjoying a cornetto. Now for us Americanos.. that's the equivalent of those awesome cones that have the ice cream, chocolate and nuts on top.. ooh what's the name.. it escapes me, anyway.. here's what Wikipedia says about it:

Cornetto is a branded frozen ice cream cone, manufactured by Unilever and marketed throughout the world under various different company names, but with the same Heartbrand logo.
The idea of selling frozen ice-cream cones had long been a dream of ice-cream makers, but it was not until 1959 that Spica[1], an Italian ice-cream manufacturer based in Naples conquered the problem of the ice-cream making the cone go soggy. Spica invented a process, whereby the inside of the waffle cone was insulated from the ice-cream by a layer of oil, sugar and chocolate. Spica registered the name Cornetto in 1960. Initial sales were poor, but in 1976 Unilever bought out Spica and began a mass-marketing campaign throughout Europe. It is now one of the most popular ice-creams in the world

In film
The Cornetto is referenced in the motion picture Shaun of the Dead. In one scene, Shaun (Simon Pegg) asks Ed (Nick Frost) if he needs anything from the shop. Ed responds, "Cornetto." This scene is repeated with the same actors in Hot Fuzz, and is a reference to co-writer and director Edgar Wright, whose preferred hangover cure is a Cornetto. In Shaun of the Dead, the flavour used was strawberry, which has red packaging to signify blood, and in Hot Fuzz, the flavour was classico (vanilla), which has blue packaging to signify police colours. A third film in the 'Blood and Ice Cream Trilogy' has been announced by Pegg and Wright, and the flavour will be mint. The film will be called The World´s End.
